Simply replace your existing electric storage hot water service, with a Rheem 26L continuous flow hot water service worth over $1200. You only need to cover installation costs. We are able to offer this great deal to you, the customer due to the state governments rebate scheme.
When we give the price for installation, we make sure it includes everything. We make things as easy as possible with no surprises. We even do the paperwork needed as the offer is based on a government rebate. We include the following when givig an installation price.
- Upsizing gas pipework from mains connection to new hot water service unit
- Labour and materials to swap electric with gas HWS
- Plumber compliance certificate
- Electrical works and compliance certificate
- Taking of electric HWS to recycling centre
- Processing of government gas appliance rebate
Electrical works include the disconnection of the existing electric HWS and the re connection of new gas HWS with Compliance Certificate. If no outside power point is present it will also include the installation of a new outdoor power point.
What we need to know to give an install price
Call Leicester Plumbing and speak with one of our team members who will ask you a series of quick questions that will assist us in determining an estimation on installation price. Some of the main questions are listed below:
- Gas is connected to house?
- House on stumps or slabs?
- Positions of gas meter and existing HWS?
- If HWS is to be relocated?
Stumped houses usually allow the tradesmen easier access to run water pipes below the house. Slab houses are more involved taking the water lines down the walls. If the HWS is on the opposite side of the house from the gas meter then more pipework will be required which will add to the price a little. Money will be saved if there is no need to upgrade existing gas line from main to house but this is not usual.
Rheem gives a warranty 10 year parts and 3 years on labour and heat exchanger. Find out why we choose Rheem when we supply gas hot water services.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
We can still help, just not as much. Although the Government rebate doesn’t allow you to receive your new continuous flow LPG HWS for free the good news is, there is still a smaller rebate on offer. The rebate amount can change on a monthly basis so please contact us and ask what savings can be made today.
Leicester Plumbing and Gasfitting has been a proud Rheem service agent for many years. They have always been efficient and quick when supplying systems or resolving any warranty issues that arise after installation.
Rheem is Australia’s largest supplier of gas water heaters and are the leaders in 5 Star energy efficient gas storage water heaters. The 6 Star Continuous Flow Water Heater range ensures that Rheem offers a complete energy efficient gas hot water range to suit all homes and families.
Designed in Australia for the harshest Australian conditions, Rheem also offers a great warranty on their 6 star continuous flow HWS including:
- 10 year parts
- 3 year labour on heat exchanger
So when it comes to service, quality and warranty, we choose Rheem for our gas hot water systems.
First and foremost the title speaks for itself. Continuous hot water. You will never run out of hot water unlike a storage unit. As our families expand and grow [into teenages] the need for hot water increases.
The truth is with an electric HWS you are paying to heat the same amount of water each and every day regardless of whether you use a litre or 300 litres per day. With a gas continuous flow the only time you will ever pay to heat the water is while you’re using it.
This is also a money saver when you are holidays. As the price of electricity continues to rise choosing to replace your electric HWS with a gas HWS will continue to save you money.
We can offer you this deal as it is supported by the Victorian government.
The Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) scheme is a Victorian government initiative promoted as the Energy Saver Incentive to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, encourage the efficient use of electricity and gas, and to encourage investment, employment and technology development in industries that supply goods and services which reduce the use of electricity and gas by energy consumers.
The Act and the Victorian Energy Efficiency Regulations 2008 allow for accredited entities, known as Accredited Persons, to create VEECs when they help energy consumers make selected energy efficiency improvements to their homes, business premises or other non-residential premises. These improvements are specified in the Regulations and are known as Prescribed Activities. Revenue generated through the sale of VEECs enables Accredited Persons to offer energy consumers special benefits that may reduce the cost of undertaking these energy efficiency improvements.
Around 36 Prescribed Activities are currently included in the scheme, ranging from the installation of high efficiency hot water systems, air heater/coolers, lighting, draught proofing and window treatments through to the purchase of high efficiency appliances like refrigerators and televisions. A full list of these activities can be found on the VEET Activities By Sector page.
How long does deal last
The Victorian Government Energy Saver Incentive is constantly changing due to the amount of prescribed activities over a range of installations and the funding allowed year to year. Predictions are for incentives to continue on a 3 year phase until January 1st 2030. However, there is a cap on the number of activities that can be provided per year and the government does change it’s funding from year to year. So it is best to consider this deal to last through 2017.
